We do plan to hold this event for 2013. Check back after we get the Peak to Creek Marathon set up...

A rather warm December day brought out a trio of elite female competitors who just happened to be good friends, which made for some interesting competition during the first half of the race. Ultimately, Annette Bednosky and Sabrina Moran would pull out, leaving only Anne Riddle on the track to keep chugging along until she had racked up an incredible 140+ miles and qualified for the U.S. 24-hour championship team.

We admittedly got off to a late start in planning the event with registration not opening until November. This led to one of our lowest turnouts to date, but it doesn't mean there weren't some enthusiastic runners on the track making the most of their day. To offset some of the reduced attendance, we quickly put into place certified marathon and half-marathon courses, which attracted about twenty additional runners. These races began at different times during the 24-hour period, which meant some new faces were constantly appearing on the track.

We hope you can join us for the fifth running of the Freedom Park New Year's Ultra!
